Congratulations to the new Board of Trustees elected at the general membership meeting. The new Board met and has elected the following officers: President Ed B., Vice Presidents Mary F. and Russell C., Secretary Logan DeV., Director of Attractions Jonathan L., Coffee Bar and Supplies Director Jeff T., and newsletter editor Anne Marie K. Coach B. will serve as GSR for the Bellaire Club.

The new Board plans to hold at least one monthly activity for fellowship and fun at the exciting new space, and to pursue non-charitable status as a 501c (3) organization from the Internal Revenue Service. There will be plenty of opportunities for service work: the Board will soon announce a “work day” for club participants to help out in a weekly “clean up” day to keep our new space sparkling clean and gorgeous!

Special thanks to volunteers who helped make the transition to our new home were announced at the general membership meeting, and they bear repeating here: thanks again to Arch A., Robert P., Paula C., Ker n V., Rick W., Margaret D., Mark W., John F., Steve G., Asher B., Chris, Scott and Leo. Also, very special thanks to outgoing President Mark Z., treasurer Larry A. and board member Coach B. Many others also contributed time, efforts and suggestions during our transition.

And it must be mentioned here: thanks to the members of the Bellaire Club who generously contributed to the moving fund to pay for the move to our new location. We are already attracting many newcomers and new members, in keeping with our primary purpose of helping others achieve (and maintain) sobriety. Membership has grown from 30 active members late last year to 53 active members last week!

Please feel free to direct your compliments (and complaints) to the new Board!

Stay tuned here for details of a grand reopening of the Bellaire Club!
