The future of the Bellaire Club will be celebrated with a Blast from the Past on Saturday October 1, when we will hold our Grand Reopening celebration.

The past – and pasta – is the theme, with a meal ticket of $7 covering a wide assortment of linguini, fettuccini, spaghetti, and plenty of side dishes. The event starts at 1:30 and last until the music stops.

Music of the Beatles and Led Zeppelin will be provided by the Bellaire Boys and Black Orchid Ritual will perform an unplugged set. There also will be a chance to win or bid on fabulous special prizes, with a raffle and silent auction.

We’re spreading the word to other AA groups in the area that we have reopened and we’re going strong with more meetings by the day!

Mark your calendar, find a date and make plans to celebrate our vibrant new club.

Board Meeting

The Board of Directors will hold its regular, third Sunday of the month meeting this week, after the 12:15 p.m. Sunday meeting. All are invited to attend, as long as you bring positive thoughts, helpful suggestions and a willingness to volunteer! (Leave your resentments on your sponsor’s voice mail!)

Lots of celebrants have already signed up on the September list, which is on the white board in the main meeting room. Please be sure to include the name of the group where you plan to celebrate! A great way to honor these milestones of sobriety is to make a contribution to the Bellaire Club in the celebrants’ honor. Gift cards are available at the coffee bar.

Bellaire Club by Day – From Arch A.

The starting pistol was fired at the new Monday Women’s Group that met Monday for the first time and they are off and running. Around 18 showed up with coach Alice G. leading the team using a brand new format. Be sure to come back for the second heat next Monday at noon.

The new Thursday Noon Group will meet again at noon with Ann N. leading us with her relaxing and peaceful style. Perfect for this week.

Then on Friday, David D. will be on hand to storm the hill at The Friday Two Dollar Meeting at 12:15.

Don’t forget Taco John’s Saturday Noon Meeting and Jonathan L.’s Speaker’s Meeting at 6:30. I’m sure he has lined up a great speaker for us.

To start our week off, the effervescent Alice G. will lead the Sunday Noon Meeting at 12:15. This is preceded by the Sunday Speakers Meeting at 11:00.

And there are our regulars, the on going daily meetings, the Open Door Group at 10:00 AM and the 12 & 12 Group which meets daily except Saturday at 6:30 PM

A lot happening at the Bellaire Club every day.

The board of directors with Ed B. at the helm has great plans for our October 1 Grand Opening Celebration. And as soon as the secret spy tapes of their last meeting are retrieved that information will passed on to you.

Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes. – Oscar Wilde

The speaker for the Saturday Speaker Meeting is Candy D., who has 27 years of sobriety and calls Post Oak her home group.

Victoria H. is chairing the Sunday Noon meetings in September. Remember, that meeting starts at 12:15 p.m., to allow time for the 11 a.m. Sunday Speaker meeting.

Alice G. has officially launched a brand new daytime Women’s Meeting now convening at noon on Monday. There was great attendance at the first meeting, so stop by for a chance to talk about the guys, who are meeting in the other room during the Monday Men’s Meeting.

On Friday, David D. will be on hand to lead the Friday Two Dollar Meeting at 12:15.

Don’t forget Taco John’s Saturday Noon Meeting, and the other Bellaire Club favorites, the 10 a.m. Open Door meeting and the 6:30 12 X 12 meeting.
