NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS AND GEORGE WASHINGTON REALLY DID CHOP DOWN A CHERRY TREE (before tossing a silver dollar across the Delaware River.)

Whoever said that no news is good news obviously has never had to write a weekly newsletter. Kind reader, there is something you can do. Let your editor know what is going on in your group. Group conscious meetings, pages covered in your Big Book, 12&12 studies, the history of your group, etc. Plus any personal news you would like to share to give encouragement to your fellow travelers. Like you got a job, got married or divorced (whichever you deem an accomplishment.), etc. Otherwise the editor just might have to start writing about Bill W.’s use of the subjunctive case in the Big Book. That will keep you glued to the screen.

The monthly meeting of the Board of Directors will be held this coming Sunday following the noon meeting. This is the group that helps keep the club open and functioning. All members are welcome to attend and observe. Might be a good time to drop by and thank them for a thankless job. After all, being on the board of directors of an anonymous organization is not exactly something you can put on your résumé.

The newly organized 6:30 AM Group met for the second time this Wednesday. Even your editor rolled out of the sack to attend (having made certain there was no garlic, stakes or mirrors about.) What a lively bunch for that hour of the day. Definitely a very cohesive crowd and one certain to draw others to them. Come check it out. Worth setting your alarm a bit earlier or pass the word on to someone you know might be up at that hour.

Did God create alcoholism? If so, why?
In the Fifth Step, is admitting the “exact nature of our wrongs” different from admitting everything we can think of where we did wrong?
If I let a sponsee go because I can’t help her, should I help her find another sponsor or let her find her own way?
Provocative questions like these are asked at the Ask-It-Basket Group that meets at 8:00 PM every Wednesday. Drop by and put your two cents worth in or put in a question of your own.
