Greetings all!

Honestly, I think I have been through worse things than that sometimes, …and then I hear one of YOUR stories!
It was a great end of the year Meeting at Midnight with Ed B and Arch A at the helm. Through the evening, from dinner at Hunan Hut, to
the partaking of blackeyed peas and cornbread, I found myself engaged in some of the most entertaining conversations. From Mama Cass Elliot
choking on a sandwich to the music of Adam Lambert, I couldn’t help but notice that everyone seemed really jazzed about being at the Bellaire Club that night.
Our gatherings seem to take on a life of their own, (some would call it an ‘egregore’: look that word up, it has fascinating implications regarding our Group Conscience),
to the point that at times our communications with other don’t even require words. One ‘conversation’ I was in that night didn’t even have words, it was just an exchange of glances, and in the others face, I saw encouragement and compassion. Even such seemingly little things are among the many things that make me glad I’m here. So, onwards with the NEWS!….

In experimenting with different release days for the newsletter, it’s still looking like Thursday evening is turning out to be the best one.
It gives everyone that is part of the”newspool” time to research and forward information to me.

For the moment we have a few more December announcements, namely:

January Birthdays:

Hmmmm…still waiting to see those on the white board.
OK. Maybe next newsletter 🙂

It almost seems needless to say, but always good to remind:

*Please let the meeting that you consider your ‘home’ meeting know of your intention to celebrate with them so they will make sure to have your chip.*
Saturday Night at the Movies:

Expand your circle of sober friendships by making it out to Movie Night, every
Saturday at 9PM. Popcorn $1 and movie free!!! The movie is always a good one, one that most will want to see without even knowing what it is. BUT!…the more important part is the fellowship that occurs and the sober friends you can make.

Other meetings of note…

Wednesday 6:30am “Red-eye Special” meeting. It’s a small but happy meeting that really needs the support of a few more early risers. Thanks!

Friday Night 8:00 is the “We’ve Just Begun” meeting. This is a great meeting if you are new to sobriety, and really looking for others to connect with.
Besides finding others that are new, you will find others with long term sobriety that come especially to be of some kind of service to newcomers. If you are looking for a sponsor, this is also a good meeting to find one in.
(The Friday Night “We’ve Just Begun” 8:00 PM meeting will be having it’s group conscience meeting on the 2nd Friday in January (the 10th),
so if that is one of your regular meetings, by all means show up. New service positions will be up for discussion, so if you are at least 90 days sober and
wondering about what service work, by all means show up and see how you can help.

Arch A. is chairing the Friday Two Dollar Meeting (12:15) for the month of January. He has asked Jeff T. to lead us to better things this coming Friday.
Please come and bring someone with you.

Ed B. will chair the Sunday Noon Meeting (12:15) in January and sources close to Ed B., chair of the 12:15 Sunday Noon Meeting have confirmed that the
leader this Sunday will be Dinah M. Yes, THAT Dinah M. Seating is limited so come early.

Tuesday Night 8:00PM is Scottish Jack’s Big Book Study with Scott T. at the helm. It’s always a great weeknight meeting, and for those of you who haven’t opened your Big Book lately…here’s your chance.

The Women’s Hope & Healing Meeting is also Monday at 12 in the small meeting room. January’s leaders will be Camora – with Mary as backup.

This Sunday, January 6th, 2013, at 11:00 AM at The Bellaire Club (5625A Beechnut at Hillcroft) Clark H. is going to tell us what he was like, what happened, and what he is like now.  Clark’s current home group is The High Noon Group at The Delta Club, but he has also been to some Noon Meetings at The Bellaire Club, in The Heights, in Dickenson, in Bear Creek and whatever Noon Group is closest to where he is working on any given day.  Clark’s first Home Group was The Houston Western Club, so some of you may remember him from those days. Clark has 28+ years worth of experience, strength and hope to share with us so try to join us if you can.

It helps to be redundant with this one: Friday and Sunday “noon” meetings start at 12:15 and end at 1:15.

If you’re new to the mailing list, definitely head back to the our main website and check the meeting schedule for other meetings listed.
Also, let me know if you have something special going on in your home group, or you wish to announce any changes within a certain meeting at
Just get it to me no later than Wednesday night by around 10:00pm.

So far, that’s about it for now. More to come!
