BELLAIRE CLUB NEWSLETTER
February 21st, 2013
Just a few things to update you with….(speaking of updates, if there are new chairs, leaders, or announcements, please let us know at email@example.com .
I hope you consider joining me at the 50 Years of Miracles Convention, March 8-10. This convention is going to have more going on at it than any I’ve ever seen or heard about. You can register at www.aahouston.org.
The convention is being held at the Westin, Memorial City which is a beautiful hotel – An AAA 4 Diamond beauty that normally goes for $229-$279 per night. The special convention rate is $92. The speakers include (Friday night) Dave J. whose father, Larry J. was responsible for bringing A.A. to Houston and then having it spread throughout Texas. Dave’s been sober over 56 years now and really has some stories to tell. There’s going to be a huge talent show and we’ll be showing movies including the new Bill W. Documentary and Flight. Of all of the conventions around…this one simply shouldn’t be missed. I hope to see you register. Let me know if you have any questions. (Sent in by Mary F.)

Expand your circle of sober friendships by making it out to Movie Night, every
Saturday at 9PM. This Saturday night, February 23rd, the movie will be the Amazing Spiderman. Popcorn $1 and movie free!!!
Adam S. chairs the Sunday Noon Meeting (12:15) in February. This Sunday, February 24th, Ann N, will be leading the February BIRTHDAY meeting.
The Women’s Hope & Healing meeting for January, Mondays at 12:00 noon in the small meeting room, will be chaired by Stephanie D.
At the same time there is the Monday Men’s Meeting at noon in the big meeting room, just unsure who is heading that up this month.
Tuesday Noon: there is a Meeting and is really needing some support.
Tuesday Night 8:00PM is Scottish Jack’s Big Book Study with Scott T. at the helm. It’s always a great weeknight meeting, and for those of you who haven’t opened your
Big Book lately…here’s your chance.
Wednesday 6:30am “Red-eye Special” meeting. It’s a small but happy meeting that really needs the support of a few more early risers. Thanks!
Also the Wednesday ‘nooner’ meeting is being headed up by …oops, no updates yet! It is happening though.:-)
Also needing an update on who is handling the Wednesday 8:00 ask-it basket this month.
The Doug D’B Meeting on Thursday 8:00 is always a great meeting to catch. Besides that, Doug’s accidental irreverent wit will keep you in stitches.
Ann N. is chairing the Friday Two Dollar Meeting (12:15) for the month of January, with Bill E. leading. Please come and bring someone with you!
Friday Night 8:00 is the “We’ve Just Begun” meeting. This is a great meeting if you are new to sobriety, and really looking for others to connect with.
Besides finding others that are new, you will find others with long term sobriety that come especially to be of some kind of service to newcomers. If you are looking
for a sponsor, this is also a good meeting to find one in.
**NEW STUFF HERE**
Saturday Night, Ashli L. now chairs the 6:30 Speaker Meeting, and she’s told me she will be rotating each Saturday with an ‘old timer’ and a newcomer.
This Saturday, the speaker will be Mark T.
Al M. chairs the Sunday 11:00 Speaker Meeting. Ben B. from The Bellaire Club will be telling his story at 11AM Sunday February 24th.
It helps to be redundant with this one: Friday and Sunday “noon” meetings start at 12:15 and end at 1:15.
If you’re new to the mailing list, definitely head back to the our main website and check the meeting schedule for other meetings listed.
