January 30th, 2013
Greetings all!
We have a few updates, so onwards, through the fog!….

Change Your Plans, Folks!

At last update, I am informed there will be a 50” flat screen tv for the game, so don’t forget to bring some
game-day foodies to munch and share. Drinks will be on sale for a buck each…unless someone brought a cooler full of….sodas:-)

On March 8th-10th, The Houston Intergroup Association is having it 50th Year Anniversary. Come help them celebrate!
They will be having a Convention over three days at the Westin, Memorial City, Houston, TX. To find out more and register, go to , and the link is right there on the front page.

Saturday at 9PM. Popcorn $1 and movie free!!! Jonathan L. tells me the movie
will be Source Code with Jake Gilinhall, which got a Thumbs Up from Roger Ebert.
Bring a date, or just yourselves.

Other meetings of note…

The Women’s Hope & Healing meeting for January, Mondays at 12:00 noon in the small meeting room, will be Camora – with Mary as backup.

Tuesday Noon there is a Meeting (HA! that’s the one I needed reminding about, Thanks Mary F!) and is really needing some support.

Tuesday Night 8:00PM is Scottish Jack’s Big Book Study with Scott T. at the helm. It’s always a great weeknight meeting, and for those of you who haven’t opened your
Big Book lately…here’s your chance.

Wednesday 6:30am “Red-eye Special” meeting. It’s a small but happy meeting that really needs the support of a few more early risers. Thanks!

Also the Wednesday ‘nooner’ meeting is being headed up by Alice G this month.

Arch A. is chairing the Friday Two Dollar Meeting (12:15) for the month of January.
Please come and bring someone with you!

Friday Night 8:00 is the “We’ve Just Begun” meeting. This is a great meeting if you are new to sobriety, and really looking for others to connect with.
Besides finding others that are new, you will find others with long term sobriety that come especially to be of some kind of service to newcomers. If you are looking
for a sponsor, this is also a good meeting to find one in.

Adam S. will chair the Sunday Noon Meeting (12:15) in February. This Sunday, February 3rd, Russell C, who recently celebrated 26 years sober, will be leading the meeting.

Al M. will be chairing the meeting this Sunday, February 3rd, at 11:00 AM, at The Bellaire Club
Jerry B. whose home group is the Spring Branch Club, will be telling his story, (sober since August of 2010).

It helps to be redundant with this one: Friday and Sunday “noon” meetings start at 12:15 and end at 1:15.

If you’re new to the mailing list, definitely head back to the our main website and check the meeting schedule for other meetings listed.
Also, let us know if you have something special going on in your home group, or you wish to announce any changes within a certain meeting.
Send it to
Just get it in no later than Wednesday night by around 10:00pm.

Parting Thought:
“For me, and I hope, you, as well…AA Meetings are an archipelago of sanity
in the lunatic sea of Life.”

So far, that’s about it for now. More to come!
