Thanksgiving Plans at the Club!
Thanksgiving Day at the Bellaire Club.
The Thursday Noon Meeting will be a Speakers Meeting featuring Ray Hill.
Ray will have 55 years sobriety come January. He was host of KPFT’s The Prison Show for 32 years and a frequent radio and TV guest expert. He was star of a one-man show, an actor, writer, lecturer and human rights activist. He even has a US Supreme Court case with his name on it. He was the subject of the documentary film, Citizen Provocateur.
THAT should be a draw! (Well, I tried to get Bill W., but they said he was not available!!!)
Our Thanksgiving Feast will follow the Speakers Meeting
The turkeys and hams will be done by Daniel Wong’s Kitchen, who has been doing this for quite some time in the Southern style, i.e. with cornbread dressing and gravy. He does them for $40.00. He also does hams for $45.00. They come with yams. These will be picked up before noon Thanksgiving Day so that they will be warm at serving time.
We will need six turkeys and four hams. Groups, members and friends are asked to “sponsor,” i.e. pay for a ham or turkey either as an AA group, individual or individuals. May be given in thanksgiving for or memory of someone, etc. Cards with this donor and dedication information will be displayed on all the tables.
Please place your donations in an envelope marked “Turkey” or “Ham” and drop in the safe. Letting no grass grow under their feet, the vibrant 12&12 group has already started collecting.
We hope to have enough tables to seat everyone. Beginning with this holiday, all the tables will be covered with fabric tablecloths. We are sober now.

Meditation for the day:
Spiritual power is God in action. God can only act through human beings. Whenever you, however weak you may be, allow God to act through you, then all you think and say and do is spiritually powerful. It is not you alone who produces a change in the lives of others! It is also the Divine Spirit in you and working through you. Power is God in action. God can use you as a tool to accomplish miracles in people’s lives.
